• Networked Environment Region/WECAN project evaluation tender issued and project started. This is supported by: CCW, FCW, Welsh Government and Groundwork Wales. Click here for more details.

• Green Infrastructure Toolkit training completed for WECAN team and partners.

• Caerau Market Garden and Sustainable Urban Drainage Scheme works launched on 14 February 2012. This represents a strategic investment of £105k by WECAN.

• Big Pitch 2011 evaluation, videos and case study completed. Big Pitch involved Rock UK, the four Further Education Colleges in the Valleys, funding from the Welsh Government and sponsorship from Capita Symonds, Rhymney Brewery, UHOVI and WECAN. Click here for more details.

• Joint Landsker-led and BTCV-led consortium appointed to deliver the Blue Green Gym ‘memorable outdoor experience’ pilot (Dec 2011 to June 2012). Click here for more details.

• Coed Cymru appointed to conduct the Blaenau Gwent Native Tree Nursery feasibility study (Dec 2011 to March 2012). Click here for more details.

• Funding approved for BTCV-led Community Food Growing feasibility study in the Ebbw Fach, with the support of Coleg Gwent.

• Completed the Big Pitch 2011 challenge involving Rock UK Summit Centre and FE students in the Valleys. Nick Hewer (BBC The Apprentice fame) is Patron. Click here for more details.
